From navigating the grocery store aisles and understanding food labels, to eating healthy on the go, there are so many challenges when it comes to maintaining healthy eating habits. As a busy professional in New York City, Katrina implements healthy lifestyle techniques in the midst of a hectic schedule, and understands how difficult it can be to manage healthy eating on the go.
Katrina does not believe in miracle diets or quick fixes. Instead, she follows a lifestyle that allows her to listen to her body, and not impose any restrictions or "forbidden foods". She believes that developing a stable, healthy relationship with food is key to fostering positive food choices and improving overall quality of life.
Katrina promotes the growth and development of a positive mindset that focuses on living a healthy lifestyle through both nutrition and exercise. She believes it's about creating healthy habits, not imposing unnecessary restrictions. She believes that small steps count the most towards your bigger goal, and no two people are the same.
As a Registered Dietitian, Katrina works closely with clients to develop an understanding of their relationship with food, and what actionable steps are appropriate based on their current lifestyle. Each individual is different, and Katrina collaborates with clients to develop their own personalized steps which help build on one another to reach an ultimate goal, and allow them to thrive.
Originally from Maryland, Katrina moved to Boston to complete her undergraduate studies at Boston University. Shortly after, she came to NYC and completed her Masters in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at Teachers College, Columbia University. Though Katrina has only been living in NYC for a few years, the city has quickly become her home.
Outside of her professional life as a dietitian, she enjoys following her passion for photography and spend time outdoors photographing and exploring -- both in and outside of NYC. Living in the concrete jungle of New York, she have developed a heightened appreciation for nature. She is also passionate about sustainable living, and can often be found on the weekends dropping off compost, and browsing the local NYC Greenmarkets.
As a big supporter of exercise, Katrina is also passionate about staying active, and can often be found working out during her free time. Her favorite types of exercise include boxing, high intensity interval training (HIIT), strength training, and biking.
